"And taking the five loaves and the two fish, [Jesus] looked up to heaven, and blessed and broke them, and gave them to the disciples to set before the crowd. And all ate and were filled. What was left over was gathered up, twelve baskets of broken pieces" (Luke 9:16-17). 

Food for Friends is a collaboration of organizations including, Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Center Congregational Church, United Methodist Church, LifePoint Church and the SH Democratic Town Committee who volunteer time, talents, and financial resources for the distribution of meals to those who receive Meals on Wheels through the Take and Eat Program of Western MA. Six times a year, we also make a meal to be distributed at Cathedral in the Night, an outdoor worship opportunity for the homeless in Northampton.

Each year, we prepare approximately 2,500 meals with donations from the Food Bank of Western MA and other private donors. Your donation will help to provide high quality ingredients for home cooked meals including fresh fruits and vegetables. 

This fundraiser is part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America's (ELCA) ongoing response to hunger in communities across the United States and the Caribbean, we are partnering with ELCA World Hunger to raise funds for our feeding ministry through a Daily Bread Matching Grant.
