This week, committee members in the U.S. Senate will make critical funding decisions for international programs—including the Green Climate Fund (GCF).

Lutheran advocates, the ELCA Advocacy Office, and partners throughout the country strongly support the Green Climate Fund because it dedicates a large percentage of resources to serve people already experiencing the impacts of climate change.

Now, Congress is threatening to block this critical funding.

Addressing the harm caused by climate change and its impact on God's Creation is a moral issue. In addition to helping people displaced or impacted by climate change, the GCF will help ensure that nations most heavily affected are equipped to build resilience for future environmental disruptions.

Last year, a bipartisan group of Senators rose above party divisions to collectively support the GCF. As people of faith, we pray that our leaders will again show leadership and embrace our call to be good stewards of the gifts that God has given all of us.

Help ensure the U.S. maintains its global commitment to help reduce the effects of climate change now! Take action at the ELCA Action Center
