Support Kristin in Argentina/Uruguay!
Hola y bienvenidos!
― Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist
Hi, my name is Kristin. I am a reader, a creative, a nature-lover, and a beloved child of God. As of April 2022, I have officially accepted a position in Argentina/Uruguay with the ELCA Young Adults in Global Mission and would love for you to join me in the coming year while I prepare, am sent out, and living in my new community.
I am being asked to raise at least $5000 to help cover costs of my trip and any expenses that will arise during my time in mission. Something as small as skipping starbucks and pledging the price of your coffee for a day goes a long way to helping me meet this goal!
Thank you all for joining me on this journey, and for the continued support as I welcome the next year with an open mind and willing heart!
This program focuses on the relationship side of missions, so the majority of my year in service will be spent working, learning, and growing alongside a congregation and being an extra source of support in any way that they need.
About Young Adults in Global Mission
The ELCA’s Young Adults in Global Mission program provides young adults, ages 21-29, the opportunity to grow in their faith and work in partnership with our global companions. Young adults in the program serve in churches, schools and social service ministries. Currently the program is engaged in work in Argentina and Uruguay, Australia, Central Europe (Hungry and Serbia), Jerusalem and the West Bank, Madagascar, Mexico, Nepal, Rwanda, Senegal, and the United Kingdom.
The total cost for one young adult in the program is $15,000. Each young adult is tasked with raising a minimum of $5,000 to help support their year of service. The ELCA commits to raising the additional $10,000 per volunteer through generous congregations and individual donors. If more than $5,000 in gifts is received, the additional funds will help support other young adult volunteers and the future of the Young Adults in Global Mission program.
