Welcome to Tim Hoffstaetter's Personal Page
Hello everyone, I am Timothy Hoffstaetter and with great excitement, I have accepted the opportunity to serve as a Young Adults in Global Mission volunteer in Cambodia starting in August. I cannot wait for my time in Cambodia to learn how to better help the Global Community and to make new friends along the way!
A little about me currently is that I will be graduating from Roanoke College which is the second-oldest Lutheran College in the nation! While at Roanoke I have had the privilege and ability to compete all four years in Cross Country and Track and Field while also being named a captain my senior year! Along with my athletics, I will have attained a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a Religious Studies Minor and Concentrations in Human Development and Disability Studies! I have also been blessed to be able to work with Roanoke's Chaplin in a fellowship program, help academically struggling students with time management and prioritization, and be able to write in the school newspaper that started publishing in 1915!
Before I was an undergraduate I was raised in Smithfield Virginia and attended church at Faith Lutheran in Suffolk. While at Faith I was fortunate enough to be on the church council, the call committee for bringing in a new pastor, and on the churchwide Virginia Synod Council. I also attended Virginia Synod youth events which I now return to as an adult volunteer!
I am grateful for my upbringing in the Lutheran Church and want to show my gratitude by serving the ELCA and as a part of accepting this call, I am asked to raise at least $7,000. I am asking for help supporting myself and the other YAGM volunteers by asking for those who are willing and able to please support my fundraising efforts with a donation today. Through your donation, you join me on this journey as I grow in my own faith and walk in partnership with our global companions. I am thrilled to think about the ways in which this year will form and transform me.
This page is set up to receive donations from individuals only. If you’re giving on behalf of a congregation or other organization, please visit ELCA.org/YAGMgive or get in touch with me for information on how to give via check.
