Welcome to My Personal Pedal for Peas Fundraising Page

Dear Friends,
I have always been passionate about hunger issues both domestic and abroad. There are lots good organizations who work to end hunger. Please allow me tell you why I'm organizing and participating in this bike ride for hunger work done through ELCA World Hunger: we not only do hunger relief work, but we also support programs that help communities work their way to sustainable livelihoods.
For example, in 2012 I had the privilege to observe the work ELCA World Hunger is doing in Haiti. We observed a pig program where people are able to sustain themselves by raising pigs and using the proceeds of sales to meet their basic needs—and then reinvest a portion of those proceeds back into the program. I met a woman there who said: “This pig is my health care. This pig is my child’s education. This pig is my bank account.”
Please help me reach my goal by supporting my fundraising efforts with a donation today. Through our efforts, you and I are part of making a difference and pursuing a world of justice where all are fed. Together, we accomplish much more than we ever could do alone.
Thank you for joining me and for your support – every gift truly matters!
About ELCA World Hunger
As a long-standing presence in communities in nearly 60 countries, including the United States, ELCA World Hunger is deeply relational and rooted in listening. We steer clear of “one-size-fits-all” answers and have enormous respect for local context, local expertise and local ingenuity. Your gifts support tailored solutions – in areas like health, water, income, education, food security, and more – that can put an end to hunger for the long term.
The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) is one of the largest Christian denominations in the United States with more than 3.8 million members in 10,000 congregations across the nation and the Caribbean.
