"I appeal to you therefore, siblings and friends, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God - what is good and acceptable and perfect." (Romans 12:1-2)

I am forever grateful that the ELCA Fund for Leaders allowed me to follow my call as a leader in this church. I was proud to have the confidence of the Church and the generous supporters of Fund for Leaders program to make it possible for me to attend seminary. However, I know that many potential leaders struggle to find a way to pay for their seminary education. 

This year is the 25th anniversary of Fund for Leaders, and I am celebrating by supporting the fund that supported me! I want to make it possible for more passionate and talented leaders to attend seminary and carry out the work and mission of this church, sharing God’s love with the world through the good news of Jesus Christ.

On August 16, Fund for Leaders will host its first-ever Day of Giving. I hope you will join me, the Fund for Leaders alum community, and the whole church in strengthening the future of the ELCA by donating to my fundraiser.

With our help, the ELCA Fund for Leaders can make a difference to more future church leaders, just like it made a difference to me!

For over 25 years, the ELCA Fund for Leaders scholarship program has supported students of tremendous promise attending ELCA seminaries. By making seminary more affordable, the ELCA Fund for Leaders enables more future ministers to go to seminary and helps them graduate with less debt, empowering those whom God calls into ministry to go and serve wherever the church needs them most.

Together, we are working toward our ultimate goal: a future in which every ELCA seminary candidate can graduate without the burden of financial debt.
