​Please support my call as a volunteer with YAGM! 

I am so excited to share that I have accepted the opportunity serve with ELCA’s Young Adults in Global Mission program in Hungary for the next year starting in August. YAGM currently has 6 programs going with 35 of us volunteering for the year starting in August of 2023 and ending in July of 2024. 

As part of accepting this call, I am asked to try to raise a minimum of $5,000. Any amount you are able to donate is very appreciated! Through your donation, you join me in my year of service and  journey with God, my faith and walk in partnership with our global companions. I am so excited to see how this year changes me and how I can help support our global partners.

A gift of $50 is all it takes to support my year of service! You can support me for one day for $50, one week for $350, or even a whole month for $1,500. The total cost for my year of service is $15,000 over about 10 months. I will be so grateful for your support in any amount. Thank you — your gift truly matters!

About Young Adults in Global Mission

YAGM stands for Young Adults in Global Mission. It is a volunteer program through the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America that provides young adults, ages 21-29, the opportunity to grow in their faith and work in partnership with our global companions. Accompaniment is a central theme to YAGM. It focuses on relating to your neighbor with humility and openness. Instead of going out trying to convert others to Christianity, the objective is to engage with a multifaith and multicultural global community. Volunteers are required to learn the horrors of colonialism and the transgressions of previous missionaries so that, upon returning to the United States, they might work to create a more just and compassionate society. 

The total cost for one young adult in the program is $15,000. Each young adult is tasked with raising a minimum of $5,000 to help support their year of service. The ELCA commits to raising the additional $10,000 per volunteer through generous congregations and individual donors. If more than $5,000 in gifts is received, the additional funds will help support other young adult volunteers and the future of the Young Adults in Global Mission program.
